Special about this book: 1 unique thing-One unique thing about this book and all Nicholas Sparks book is that the author shows teenagers that people can fall in love. Different kinds of people. In this book, Ronnie was a goth like girl who shoplifted, and she a city girl, and Will is a rich, volleyball player, he's a beach boy. And they both fell in love. This shows that anything is possible. 2nd unique thing-Another unique thing about this book is that it describes what some teenagers really go through. For an example, some kids Shoplift. And that is what happened to Ronnie. But she learned not to do that stuff anymore. And that some teenagers can be really rude and lie about stuff. Find a part in the book:Page 209-" Which meant, of course, that she had to fix things. Steeling herself in case he was still angry, she entered the lobby. In the bay, Will and Scott were working beneath a lifted car. Scott said something to Will, who turned and saw her, but he didn't smile. Instead, he wiped his hands on a rag and started toward her.
"He stopped a few feet away . Up close, his expression was unreadable, "What do you want?"
"Not exactly the opening she's hoped for, but it wasn't entirely unexpected, either.
"You were right," She said. "Yesterday, I left the game because Ashely said that I was just your latest project. She also implied that I wasn't the first, that our day together--all the things we did and places you toke me--were tricks you use with every new girl."
"Will continued to stare at her. "She lied."

What is it really about?I think the book 'The Last Song' is about a Ronnie finding her true self and realizing that she has been so caught up in her own life that she didn't even notice anything changing or people dying around her. And at the same time, making a better relationship with her father and she realizes that when she lays with her father on a hospital bed, and falling in love with Will. And her father is getting to know her daughter a lot better. He's getting those three years back in less than three months. Identify a possible theme or big idea in the novel: 1:"Tomorrow Ronnie might be leaving, and at th thought, he took a hesitant step toward her. Moonlight drifted through the window, and he heard the steady drone of the ocean waves beyond the glass. The tender fire o distant stars flickered a heavenly affirmation, as if God were announcing His presence somewhere else. Suddenly he felt tired. He was alone, he thought; he would always be alone. He bent and kissed Ronnie gently on the cheek, feeling again the undertow of his love for her, a joy as intense as pain."-This shows that Steve really cares about Ronnie, and he loves her. pg 194 2:"'And that's all of it. As for the shoplifting I did back in New York, I don't even know why I took that stuff. It wasn't like I needed it. It was just something to do because my friends were doing it. When I went to court, I admitted everything because I knew I was wrong and that I wasn't ever going to do it again. And I didn't----not there, and not here.'"- Ronnie told Will everything about her shoplifting and realized there was no point in doing it. She sees that she was a different person back then.-pg 253 3:"'Of course I forgive you," she said, and it was then she began to cry. She leaned toward him, resting her head on his chest, and noticed how thin he'd become without her even being aware of it. She could feel the sharp outline of the bones in his chest, and she suddenly realized that he had been wasting away for months. It broke her heart to know she hadn't been paying attention; she'd been so caught up in her own life that she hadn't even noticed.-This is where it shows that Ronnie really cares about her father. pg 367

Experience by reading this novel:In this book, I had a lot of stuff that reminded me of my own life. For an example, Was it a good use of my time?Yes, why? No, why not?Yes it was, because it was very entertaining. I read this book whenever I was bored. It was a great source of my time.
Like the book? If so, why. If not, why not?Yes, I liked the book. Normally, I don't like reading, but when its Nicholas Sparks, I love it. I think its because he writes about love. And this book had a lot of that in it. It was also sad. I didn't really like the ending because it was very sad. I dislike sad endings. :(
What age would like this book?Teenagers because it talks about love and its all about a teenager falling in love. And this book would be good for people who like Miley Cyrus and music!! Good about the book?Nicholas Sparks wrote about a teenage girl, her hard times and good. And I thought that was very interesting. I also liked the part where Ronnie didn't get along with her father, but towards the end of the book Ronnie and Steve started to share a grand relationship that could last forever. That was the best part about it. Not good? I did not like the ending. That is one thing about Sparks books, he makes the ending in his books unpredictable. They are all sad. But it kind of brings you back to reality, because you know that the world isn't always perfect.
